A new building for the Broadford RSL consisting of a north facing ceremonial forecourt, lounge, bar and function areas with service areas arrayed along the south side of the building. The design concept combines the forms of a simple skillion roof and faceted verandahs to create a strongly recognisable and efficient contemporary building. Colorbond roof cladding to external surfaces is used to further unify the buildings expression, softened in parts through the integration of timber cladding and decking. The skillion roof allows for high ceilings over the function areas and collection of stormwater into a series of water tanks arrayed along the south side of the building.
