A complimentary addition to the back of a single storey heritage listed residence in Caulfield. The clients brief required a simple gesture in extending the existing residence, to solve muddled circulation and lack of natural light. The response of relocating the existing bathroom creates a clear vista through the centre of the house, visually connecting the entry with a new courtyard and garden. The new living area wing responds to the challenge set by the client to create a dramatic and contemporary space which both captures northern light and sits comfortably alongside the existing house.
