The new Mediation Centre for the Supreme Court of Victoria was commissioned in response to the increasing demand for mediation within the Court system. The centre includes large mediation rooms, each with dedicated acoustically separated break out spaces. Special attention was given to balancing the gravity of a Supreme Court facility with the less formal environment more appropriate for mediation. A generous and relaxed reception area and a calming palette of colours and materials contribute to the project being warmly welcomed by the Court.
